Profile extrusion operator.

Job Description

As a Profile Extrusion Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion machinery throughout the production process. You will help ensure that production runs safely and efficiently while maintaining the quality and consistency of finished products. This position requires someone who can pay close attention to equipment performance, recognize potential issues, follow production specifications, and make appropriate adjustments when needed. You will also work closely with maintenance, quality, and production team members to keep the extrusion line operating efficiently.
key responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and monitor profile extrusion machinery and auxiliary equipment. Start up and shut down extrusion lines according to established procedures. Monitor temperatures, pressures, speeds, and other production parameters. Make equipment and process adjustments to maintain consistent product quality. Inspect finished plastic profiles for dimensions, appearance, color, defects, and other quality requirements. Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment. Maintain accurate production, quality, and process records. Perform material changes and tooling changes as required. Assist with line changeovers and ensure equipment is properly prepared for production. Load and handle raw materials according to established procedures. Monitor the extrusion process and identify potential problems. Communicate equipment or production issues to maintenance, supervision, or quality personnel. Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping around the extrusion line. Assist with basic preventative maintenance as assigned. Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Meet established production schedules and quality standards. Work closely with other operators, maintenance personnel, quality technicians, and supervisors. Follow all production instructions, specifications, and company procedures.
qualifications:
Previous manufacturing experience preferred. Previous extrusion experience is preferred. Experience operating plastic extrusion equipment is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation. Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment or process issues. Ability to read and follow work instructions and production specifications. Ability to follow safety procedures and PPE requirements. Basic math skills. Ability to accurately measure products and materials. Comfortable using hand tools and basic measuring instruments. Strong attention to detail. Ability to identify product defects and quality issues. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work independently and as part of a production team. Good communication skills. Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials as required.
physical requirements:
This position requires employees to remain active throughout the workday and perform physical manufacturing duties, including: Standing and walking for extended periods. Frequently bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Lifting and moving materials as required. Handling raw materials, finished products, and production equipment. Using hand tools and measuring instruments. Working safely around operating machinery. Following all required PPE and safety procedures.
work environment:
This position is performed in a manufacturing environment where employees may work around operating machinery, heat, noise, plastics, lubricants, and other production materials. Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is an important part of the position.

Four-day workweek:
Monday through Thursday. 10-hour shifts.
Consistent daytime schedule:
6:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Opportunity to build experience in plastic manufacturing and extrusion. Work as part of an experienced production team.
