Job Description/Responsibilities:
As a Plastics Technician, you'll play a key role in producing the plastic bottles used in our high-volume manufacturing operation. You'll operate, set up, troubleshoot, and perform changeovers and preventative maintenance on blow molding equipment while ensuring bottles consistently meet quality standards. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced blow molding professional who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, reducing downtime, and working in a fast-paced production environment. What You'll Do Operate, monitor, set up, and troubleshoot blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment to meet production and quality targets. Perform machine startups, shutdowns, mold changes, product changeovers, and mechanical or process adjustments. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process-related equipment issues while supporting preventative maintenance activities. Perform quality inspections and process adjustments to ensure bottles meet specifications while reducing scrap and minimizing downtime. Provide day-to-day guidance to temporary employees while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Required High school diploma or GED required. Previous hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting blow molding equipment required. Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment with strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and follow SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation. Preferred Two or more years of experience operating and troubleshooting blow molding equipment. Technical school, apprenticeship, or Associate degree in industrial maintenance, manufacturing technology, plastics technology, or a related field. Experience with preventative maintenance, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds and safely perform hands-on work throughout a 12-hour production shift. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, kneel, squat, reach, climb stairs or ladders, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to work safely around moving mechanical equipment in a loud, hot, humid, and industrial manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE and hearing protection.
