Position Summary The Machine Operator will fabricate and assemble polyethylene pipe (HDPE) to create a variety of customized structures such as; fittings, valves, Ts, Ys, elbows, aqua-shields, geothermal vaults, manholes, dual containment units, pumps, gas aeration lines and similar structures that meet customer specifications by performing the following duties: Read and interpret blueprints, product drawings and pic ticket orders to determine the materials, tools and equipment needed to complete work Follow quality control procedures when fabricating and assembling products per customer specifications Maintain accurate records of materials used on ticket; locate and pull required materials from inventory Sustain clean work area and equipment; follow safety procedures concerning use of equipment and materials for safe working conditions Operate ISCOs fusion and fast fusion equipment, cranes, and forklifts Utilize a variety of hand tools, saws and cutting equipment Perform other related duties as assigned Base Qualifications and Competencies
Education, Training and Experience:
High School diploma or GED Knowledge and application of tools used in: welding, fusing, cutting, and measuring Understanding of carpentry and hand tools Read and comprehend safety rules, operations, maintenance, procedure manuals, and blueprints/drawings for fabrication Understand/perform math functions of basic geometry, fractions, percentages and ratios Interpret technical instructions in mathematical and diagram form Proficient use of business email and basic internet usage Required forklift certification and experience Prior fabrication experience and fusion qualification preferred Physical Demands Occasionally exerting up to 50 pounds of force Regularly exerting 10 pounds of force to move objects Required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel Frequent stooping, crouching, reaching, and walking Constant talking, hearing, and seeing with close visual acuity Travel Required No. Qualifications Skills Preferred Variety of Hand Tools Experience Advanced Read product drawings Some Knowledge Measuring Skills Advanced Lift 50 lbs repeatedly Intermediate Forklift Experience Novice Fabrication Experience Some Knowledge Blueprint Reading Some Knowledge Independent Judgement Advanced Problem solving Advanced Time Management Advanced Behaviors Preferred Dedicated : Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrity Team Player : Works well as a member of a group Innovative : Consistently introduces new ideas and demonstrates original thinking Detail Oriented : Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well Motivations Preferred Goal Completion : Inspired to perform well by the completion of tasks Ability to Make an Impact : Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organization Education Preferred High School or better.
