Position Summary:

The Shear or Press Brake Operator will be responsible for cutting or bending parts according to blueprint specifications. The position is responsible for material forming. The operator will also be responsible for verifying overall dimensions according to print specifications.

Position Responsibilities/Duties:

Shear Operator Review the list of material ready to be cut. Measure all material before cutting. Determine how much material is needed for each specific job. Locate required material through other workers. Label all cut pieces. Count and store extra material in inventory. Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate good listening skills. General housekeeping of the area. Comply with ACS safety standards and follow local, state, and federal regulations. Responsible for any other duties that may arise.

Press Brake Operator (Brake Operator) Receive flat material. Form the specific part using the press brake to achieve the required contour. Store material in the designated area. May use a crane to maneuver material to be formed on the press brake. This position may require working alongside another worker. Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate good listening skills. General housekeeping of the area. Comply with ACS safety standards and follow local, state, and federal regulations. Responsible for any other duties that may arise.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

May stand for long periods of time, up to 12 hours. Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs, as well as perform frequent twisting and bending to meet the demands of a fast-paced work environment. Work in various adverse conditions such as confined or tight spaces, heights, and extreme temperatures. May work both indoors and outdoors to complete assignments. The position requires exposure to dust and dirt. Follow safety standards when working with multiple utilities, tools, and equipment.

Minimum Requirements/Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a shop or production environment. Ability to read a tape measure / knowledge of material types / ability to operate multiple types of saws. Must pass a drug test and background check for employment.

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.
