Job Description
Position Summary We are looking for motivated individuals who are detail-oriented and exhibit a strong desire to learn and grow. The Daisy Brand Machine Operator, also referred to as the Packaging Technician, has the primary responsibility of product staging, machine set up, operating, cleaning, and sanitizing the filling machines. The operator will work in a team of 3-6 people who manage the filling and packaging of sour cream and cottage cheese. Key Responsibilities Set up, troubleshoot, operate, and change over automated filler, box forming, and packing equipment. Manual loading of packaging materials i.e., cups, foil, shippers, etc. Stage packaging supplies utilizing pallet jacks. Perform and record production and quality controls. Clean and sterilize packaging equipment manually and clean in place. Preventative machine maintenance. Follow Daisy Brand food safety and quality protocols. Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), housekeeping and safe work practices. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements High School diploma or G.E.D. required. Strong mechanical aptitude; maintenance-related background preferred. Packaging machine operation and troubleshooting experience preferred. Attention to detail regarding machine operation, and outgoing package quality. Must be able to understand and follow all GMP and Safety requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, bend, lift, and twist throughout shift. Must be able to multitask while working with a team. Experience in food/dairy production environment preferred.
