Travel Not Required Summary of Position The Machine Operator in a Pre-Fabrication (Pre-Fab) Shop is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in the fabrication of building components, including cutting, shaping, and assembling materials such as metal, wood, or plastic. This role ensures production efficiency, accuracy, and safety while adhering to project specifications and company standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate various machines to perform cutting, bending, and shaping of metal and other materials. Set up and calibrate machines according to specifications. Monitor machines during operation and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper functioning. Inspect finished products for quality and precision. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production. Assist in training new machine operators as needed. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred) Prior experience in machine operation or related field Preferred Skills and Abilities Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Attention to detail and quality orientation Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to follow instructions and work independently Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
