Join a cutting-edge team that is installing a solar-powered infrastructure site supporting containerized computing and industrial equipment. Work includes mechanical assembly, material handling, machine operation, and site operations in a renewable energy environment, within the heart of the Chihuahuan Desert.Location:
Pecos, Texas Responsibilities:
Install solar racking systems and assist with module mounting Assist with conduit placement and cable management (no terminations) Support containerized infrastructure setup Read basic installation drawings and follow specifications Support equipment staging and logistics Operate compact telehandler machinery and safely load/unload heavy pallets from storage area to assembly zone onto other machinery Maintain safety zones around electrical work Maintain jobsite cleanliness and organization Follow site safety plans, PPE requirements, and supervisor direction Work outdoors in extreme cold, heat, wind, dust, and sun Physical & environmental requirements: Lift and carry up to 50-75 lbs Stand, walk, bend, and kneel for 8-10+ hours Work in remote desert conditions with uneven terrainRequired Experience:
1-3 years of construction, solar, oilfield, or industrial labor 1+ years of telehandler or forklift operator experience or other heavy equipment with similar skill requirements Comfortable using power tools daily Experience working in outdoor or industrial environmentsOther Requirements:
Reliable transportation to and from the jobsite Basic hand tools, although company-owned tools and equipment may be provided Basic PPE (masks, gloves) Be legally authorized to work in Texas Must pass a drug test and felony background check Preferred experience (not required): Solar utility-scale experience Mining container or modular infrastructure experience Prior desert or oilfield site experience Safety & compliance: Must comply with OSHA standards and site safety rules, including attending company OSHA training for Substation Entry. OSHA-10 preferredPay Rate:
$23-$28 per hour, based on experience This is a temporary/seasonal W-2 employee position. Employees will be paid hourly and are subject to standard payroll withholding. Overtime will be paid in accordance with applicable Texas and federal labor laws. Employment is project-based, with work duration dependent on construction schedules and operational needs. Continued employment may be available based on performance and future projects.Schedule:
Typically full-time, with a minimum of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Start times may be as early as 6 AM. Additional hours are potentially available during peak installation phases or critical milestones. This is a project-based role. Project duration may vary from weeks to months depending on site conditions, permitting, weather, and construction progress.Per Diem & Housing:
No housing. Employer-provided housing is not available for this position. A per diem may be provided for workers commuting long distances or required to stay overnight near the job site. Per diem eligibility is determined based on distance traveled and job requirements and is paid only for days worked onsite. Per diem is intended to offset any lodging, transportation, and meal costs and does not increase the hourly or daily pay rate. Workers are responsible for securing any lodging and accommodations.
