Job Description
General Purpose:
Operates the Retorts and all related functions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures all systems i.e. pumps, power, charts, steam, retorts, etc., are functioning correctly prior to startup. Monitors all charts, meters, gauges, thermometers, chlorine, ozone checks, and related equipment during processing. Aids Retort Assistant when necessary. Follows the Filed Operating Process at all times. Isolates product when a deviation or hold from Filed Operating Process occurs, and informs management and QC. Manipulates retorting systems manually, such as valves, when automatic systems fail. Monitors temperature of Hydrocooler pasteurizer, clears jars from Hydrocooler exit and surge table during hot fill production. Reports maintenance issues as they occur and submits work orders when necessary. Notifies Supervisor of any mechanical or process malfunctions as they occur. Maintains control and segregation of product with deviations and holds. Sanitizes loaders/unloaders, conveyor systems, floors, etc., during changeovers. Runs water ballasts in the retorts during hot fill production to ensure that retort issues are caught before product processing begins. Monitors Cooling Tower pumps Operates loaders, unloaders, and shuttle car functions when necessary. Utilize scanners or thin client units to make SAP transaction for the purpose of maintain accurate inventory levels and ensuring reliable product traceability. Assist Maintenance personnel when a Retort is down by performing test runs with water ballasts to ensure Retort is back on line as soon as possible. Follows all DFA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory quality, and sanitation requirements. Performs items on Master Sanitation lists when production is not running and when running Hot Fill. Handles cleaning chemicals in a safe manner utilizing safety equipment such as gloves, eyewear, etc. Maintain safe environment and perform other duties in a safe manner at all times. Assist in training new operator. Ability to function in a team based structure and positively contribute to team based efforts. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Shift Hours

Starting Pay
- $18.
50 / Increase to $23.66 @ 90 Days .50/HOUR
SHIFT DIFF WITH SHIFTS STARTING AT 2PM
