JOB SUMMARY
The utility worker is an entry level job that performs a variety of tasks including but not limited to operations of assigned machinery, department housekeeping, and working in various workstations. After passing the initial probationary period, the utility worker will be eligible to bid into the specific job openings within the facility.JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform various tasks within the mill and the warehouse, including filling poly bags with salt, guiding them through a heat sealer to seal them, and palletizing the finished products
- Various assignments within the plant that include operating a forklift to move and transport product/materials within the plant and operating packaging equipment to ensure quality products are shipped on time to our customers.
- Tasks such as cleaning, sweeping, sanitizing, cleaning bins, unloading package material, supplying fill stations with packing materials, labels, or boxes, making trash bales, etc.
- Assisting workers of higher classification in performing their tasks.
- Comply and assist in the promotion and implementation of the company's policies and procedures, including safety.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- A safety mindset and commitment to one's own safety and those of their fellow co-workers.
- Basic computer literacy
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
- Previous experience driving a forklift preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude preferred
