Manufacturing Equipment Operator Phoenix Engineering - 3.6 Salem, VA Job Details Full-time $17.10 - $20.35 an hour 4 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Manufacturing facility experience Full Job Description About the Role As a Production Machine Operator, you will play a vital role in our manufacturing facility by overseeing high-speed packaging lines to ensure consistent output and product excellence. You will be responsible for the efficient operation of equipment, proactive troubleshooting, and maintaining a safe, high-performance work environment. Responsibilities Operate and monitor complex filling, capping, and labeling machinery to meet daily production targets. Perform equipment start-up and shutdown procedures while adjusting machine speeds to optimize line flow. Conduct real-time quality inspections, including verifying codes, torque, and packaging integrity to ensure compliance with standards. Respond immediately to line interruptions, such as jams or spills, to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency. Maintain accurate production logs and downtime records to support data-driven process improvements. Collaborate with maintenance and quality assurance teams to address equipment performance issues and safety concerns. Uphold strict safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure a secure workspace for all team members. Required Skills High school diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment. Proven ability to follow detailed technical instructions and perform repetitive tasks with high precision. Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 60 lbs. Preferred Skills Prior experience operating automated packaging or filling equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude with a focus on basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced team.
