Job Description

Job Title:
Visual Vial Inspector and Packaging Technician Job Description This role focuses on inspecting and packaging vials and finished products to ensure they meet all quality specifications and regulatory requirements. You will work in a cleanroom environment, perform visual inspections, handle labeling and packaging tasks, and maintain accurate documentation to support compliant and efficient operations. Responsibilities Complete required training modules for vial inspection to obtain and maintain vial inspector certification. Complete training modules on proper gowning techniques for entering and exiting designated cleanroom and controlled areas. Visually inspect vials, labels, and packaged finished goods to ensure they meet established specifications and quality standards. Manually label and package finished goods according to specifications when automated machinery is unavailable or not in use. Follow good documentation practices when recording, maintaining, and organizing batch records, forms, documents, and logbooks for assigned areas. Ensure proper labeling and disposal of hazardous waste generated on the packaging floor in accordance with procedures. Assist other team members in manufacturing areas as needed to support production and inspection activities. Maintain good workplace organization and housekeeping of tools, inspection stations, and packaging machines. Adhere to all applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO rules and regulations related to the position. Perform any other related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor to support departmental goals. Essential Skills Minimum of 1 year of visual inspection experience. Experience in pharmaceutical or related regulated environments preferred. Proven attention to detail when inspecting and packaging products. Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom environment and follow gowning procedures. Good oral and written communication skills to understand instructions and document work accurately. Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills to collaborate and resolve issues on the floor. Demonstrated initiative and manual dexterity for handling vials, labels, and packaging materials. Ability to stand continuously for two or more hours while performing inspection and packaging tasks. Ability to work safely and operate material moving equipment in a safe manner. Basic math skills for counting, verifying quantities, and completing documentation. Ability to work overtime as necessary to support production schedules. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with visual inspection of medical devices or similar products. Familiarity with packaging processes in regulated industries. Knowledge of cleanroom practices and contamination control. Understanding of GMP and ISO quality standards. Comfort working with automated and manual labeling and packaging equipment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a cleanroom environment that requires proper gowning and adherence to strict cleanliness and safety protocols. Work is performed on structured shifts, including a first shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and a third shift from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am. You will spend extended periods standing at inspection and packaging stations, using both manual and, when available, automated equipment, while following established SOPs, GMP, and ISO guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Irvine, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
