Full Job Description Position Overview:
The Production Sub-Assembler is responsible for testing components and building component assemblies required for the production of diesel generator units. Work involves ability to follow directions and work with limited supervision. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Receive work orders for the job and plan details of working procedure and tools required. Assemble and test components for diesel generator sets per the bill of materials and work instructions. Perform quality checks for mistakes or faulty components in the assembly process. Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly. Supplies own tools. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
Technical skills, mechanical skills and product knowledge helpful. Ability to write and present information clearly to co-workers. Excellent organizational and problem solving skills. Must be able to read, write and understand assembly instructions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently without close supervision. Ability to deal effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum one year of related experience and/or training.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
