4:00pm-4:00am QPS Employment Group is hiring a Why Systems Operator for a company in Antigo, WI. This is a potential to hire opportunity on 2nd shift. Whey Systems Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Start up and operate whey separator to produce whey cream from raw whey produced in cheese making
- Start up and operate reverse osmosis polisher system to produce high quality concentrated whey by controlling whey flow rate, pressures, and temperatures, etc.
- Direct all products to proper storage tanks; test finished product throughout operation
- Monitor product levels, flows, and temperatures in raw whey tanks whey cream tank, whey tanks, cow water tank, product balance tanks, and reverse osmosis system; record all information on production log sheets
- Keep track of whey plant cleaning chemicals, keep supply barrels full, assist and direct unloading and storage of all chemicals received during shift; comply with all company safety and good manufacturing practices
- Wash RO system, whey heat treat and polish water system, whey tank, and reserve silo
- Immediately report any food safety or quality issues to management or other individual authorized to initiate action
- May be required to perform duties normally done by the 2nd shift operator and the Intake/Whey Plant operator
- Assist in the teardown of whey separator, reverse osmosis unit, and heat exchangers as needed
- Notify the Cheese Manufacturing Manager or Maintenance Department of equipment problems
Whey Systems Operator Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalency is required (GED)
- Knowledge of operator interfaces to operate automated equipment
- Good computer and mechanical skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively with manager, truck drivers, and other Team Members
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- May need to be certified to run milk antibiotic tests for incoming milk
- Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel
- Frequently stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally sit and talk or hear
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and maneuver barrels weighing up to 550 pounds using a two-wheeled barrel dolly
