Job Description

Experienced Saw Operator needed on 1st shift Monday- Thursday 6 AM -4:30
PM Pay:
$22.00 per hour
Summary:
The Saw Operator is responsible for setting up and operating manual and/or automated saws to cut steel and other metal stock to precise blueprint and work-order specifications. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to read tape measures and basic measurements, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate manual and automated saw equipment to cut steel and metal materials to specified dimensions. Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, drawings, and production specifications. Accurately measure materials and finished pieces using a tape measure, calipers, and other measuring tools. Inspect completed cuts to ensure they meet required dimensions and quality standards. Load, position, and secure heavy steel and metal stock for processing. Make adjustments to saw settings and equipment as needed to maintain accuracy and production requirements. Perform routine equipment maintenance, cleaning, and inspections. Identify and report equipment issues, material defects, or quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements. Safely use material-handling equipment and proper lifting techniques. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure is required. Ability to read and follow basic blueprints, drawings, and work orders. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work safely around industrial machinery and heavy materials. Ability to lift, move, and position heavy steel and metal stock with appropriate equipment and assistance. Previous experience operating saws or working in a manufacturing/metal fabrication environment is preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work for extended periods. Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials in an industrial environment. Ability to safely handle heavy steel and metal products using appropriate material-handling equipment. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Work Environment This position is performed in a manufacturing/industrial environment with exposure to machinery, noise, metal materials, dust, and varying temperatures. Proper PPE and adherence to all workplace safety procedures are required.
