Production Lead

Monday-Thursday from 5am-3pm; Fridays from 5am-10am

Saw Shop Supervisor Overview:

As a Saw Shop Forklift Lead, you are responsible for the operation of the saw shop by overseeing the employees, material flow, and execution of the schedule. You will primarily be driving a forklift, but responsible for knowing how to run each equipment and be able to train others on it.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Keep the infeed lines full of material and outfeed lines empty. Stack finished product in the designated areas inside and outside of the facility. Work closely with the saw shop supervisor to ensure all safety guidelines and procedures are followed. Oversee quality of production coming from all saw shop operations. Ensure specification compliance and instruct workers of the same. Identify all lumber components by size Ensure an efficient material flow through the saw shop. Operate forklift at, or under, posted speed limits at all times and in a safe manner. Lead by example especially on safety policies and procedures Maintain clear aisle ways for all exits and fire extinguishers. Maintain clean work areas and follow proper housekeeping procedures inside and outside the plant. Understand how each machine in the saw shop operates including the safe working practices on each machine Communicate with other operators, supervisors, and managers regarding general operation and issues Directly work with the sawshop supervisor on scheduling material Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

5 years experience in a manufacturing environment 2-5 year's experience operating a sitdown forklift Working knowledge of wood products manufacturing is preferred Commitment to a safe working environment and following company policies Ability to make sound decisions, lead, and motivate a team Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced working environment Mechanical knowledge on how machines operate
