Job Description

CNC Setup Technician Dual Spindle Lathe Shift:

1st, (7am-3:30pm)

Pay:

$26-$35/hr (Based on Experience) We are seeking a skilled CNC Setup Technician with experience operating and setting up dual spindle lathes in a precision machining environment.

Perform complete setups on CNC dual spindle lathes, including main and sub-spindle synchronization

Load, verify, and prove out CNC programs (G-code) while ensuring correct revisions are used

Set tooling, work offsets, wear offsets, and part zeroes

Install tooling, holders, collets, chucks, bar feeders, and part catchers

Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency

Troubleshoot setup, tooling, and machining issues

Optimize feeds, speeds, cycle times, and tool life while maintaining part quality

Assist with process improvements, setup standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives

Collaborate with programmers to refine CNC programs and setup documentation

Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, setup sheets, and work instructions

Perform inspections using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and comparators

Ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of CNC setup experience on lathes

Dual spindle lathe experience preferred

Strong understanding of G-code and CNC controls

Ability to independently set up complex jobs from blueprints and setup sheets

Proficiency with precision measuring instruments

Strong understanding of cutting tools, inserts, and machining processes
