Job Description

Midwest Hardwood is actively hiring a Machine Operator to join our growing fast-paced lumber industry. If you enjoy working in manufacturing and making quick decisions while working under pressure, then this is the job for you! Who are we? Midwest Hardwood Company is a hardwood manufacturing company and industrial building product distributor that serves domestic and international customers since 1981.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspects and grades milled, rough sawed, or dimensional stock lumber in a safe and productive manner. Adheres to company safety procedures and attendance policies. Set up machines to start production cycle, feeding raw material through to produce top quality boards, and paying close attention to detail. Monitor, maintain and operate machinery to let hoist down. Pull lumber from a deck to regulate the feed onto an infeed belt on production floor to ensure manufacturing goals are met. Other duties as assigned. Use downtime creatively, improving areas with tasks like housekeeping
Schedule:
Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime. First shift hours. 5 AM - 2:30
PM Requirements:
Minimal computer experience Willing to cross train in other roles

Job Environment:
Noisy, fast-paced, standing long periods of time, semi-dirty, not climate controlled.
