02:45 PM- 12:45 AM Monday
- Thursday Join Client Company as a Setup Technician and help optimize manufacturing performance through precision setups, SMED-driven changeovers, and proactive problem-solving.
Set Up Technician Responsibilities:
- Maintain a strong safety-first mindset by adhering to all Client Company policies and procedures
- Perform all work in compliance with FDA regulations, 21 CFR Part 111, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Execute quality checks during equipment setup and production runs to ensure product and process standards are met
- Demonstrate full compliance with Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures
- Perform efficient equipment setups and changeovers using SMED principles to minimize downtime
- Calibrate, adjust, and troubleshoot machinery to ensure optimal performance and adherence to production specifications
- Operate production equipment as required to support workflow and meet output goals
- Conduct basic mechanical repairs and routine preventative maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve equipment issues utilizing root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methods
- Partner with maintenance and engineering teams on more complex mechanical or technical issues
- Create and maintain controlled documentation (SOPs, Work Instructions, and Forms) related to setup, maintenance, and operation
- Train and mentor machine operators on equipment functionality, setup standards, and operating procedures
- Communicate effectively with production teams, leadership, and cross-functional departments to ensure smooth operations
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend solutions to improve productivity, quality, and safety
- Participate in Kaizen events and other Lean manufacturing initiatives
- Track, document, and analyze operational data to support continuous improvement efforts
- Learn and apply advanced continuous improvement tools and methodologies
Requirements For Set Up Technician:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment; dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing experience preferred
- Working knowledge of FDA regulations, 21 CFR Part 111, and GMPs strongly preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and industrial equipment
- Familiarity with SMED principles and lean manufacturing concepts is a plus
- Strong technical learning ability and attention to detail
- Proven problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis
- Ability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively in a deadline-driven environment
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and process documentation
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation, reporting, and data entry
- Combination of office-based tasks and hands-on work in a controlled manufacturing environment
- Environmental conditions include temperatures between 65-75°F, exposure to dust, loud noise, moving machinery, airborne particles, and cleaning chemicals
- Required use of PPE including jacket, hair net, beard net (if applicable), safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes
- Frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Primary assignment is 2nd shift, with flexibility required for weekend work Wausau@qpsemployment.
