Job Description

We are looking for an Orthopedic Technician who can keep our physician's day running smoothly with casting experience. Must be detailed and task oriented and works well in a team environment.
Duties/Responsibilities :
Apply and remove splints, wet plaster and fiberglass cast. Request X-Rays as indicated under the direction of the physician. Assist the physician in complex procedures and application of traction. Position patient for procedure and note the degree of discomfort by the patient. Provide instructions to the patient on cast care, wound care and how to apply and remove splints. Help with inventory, ordering and receiving supplies and braces. Monitor and manage physician's schedule and keep them informed if patients are running late, no showed, canceled, etc. Properly record patient information and scan documents, as needed. Other duties as assigned by Clinic Manager•
Experience and Requirements:
• Must have knowledge of techniques and methods in applying casts and splints, human anatomy, skeletal structure and medical terminology. Skills in the application of casting materials, ability to recognize wound infections, etc. Minimum two years experience with knowledge in a surgical practice preferred but not required. Must have licence or certification as an Orthopedic Technician and CPR Certification. Computer knowledge and skills required. We are a fast paced, fun office.
