Job Description

The Orthopedic Technician works directly under the supervision of a physician or appropriate licensed practitioner. The Orthopedic Technician assists with splinting and casts, as well as minor orthopedic procedures as directed by the physician. The Orthopedic Technician may also assist with preparing personal assistive devices and training for use by the patient.
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • + High school diploma or GED required + Completion of Orthopedic Training Program and Certification by the National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technologists (NBCOT) preferred or may be required by state/contract + Basic Life Support CPR, required + Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS, may be required based upon specialty + 2-4 years of related experience preferred + Medical Assistant experience preferred + Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice + Current CPR if applicable + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age •Benefits•At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs •Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
