Experience:

1+ year of technician experience and 1+ year of manufacturing equipment or skilled trades experience We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Technician to support the development of specialized nonwoven processes and products. This role involves operating and maintaining pilot-scale manufacturing equipment, characterizing nonwoven materials, documenting technical work, and supporting process and product development activities. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on manufacturing experience, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Configure, operate, and maintain pilot-scale process equipment used for nonwoven manufacturing. Support the development and optimization of nonwoven processes and products. Process and handle fibers, materials, and compounds according to established procedures. Measure and characterize physical properties of nonwoven materials produced during processing. Collect, record, and communicate technical data, observations, and test results. Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist with developing and improving procedures. Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and communicate findings to engineering and technical teams. Maintain accurate technical and production records. Support process and product development activities using established manufacturing and quality practices. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Handle materials, including lifting pails and moving pallets, as required. Follow all applicable safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of one year of technician experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, industrial, or related technical environment. Minimum of one year of experience operating or working with manufacturing equipment or in a skilled trades environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills. Ability to follow written procedures and safely operate technical equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document technical work. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or two-year technical certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical field. Two or more years of experience with nonwovens, fiber processing, web processing, or roll-to-roll manufacturing. Experience with roll-to-roll web processing, fiber processing, or material compounding. Experience supporting process or product development. Familiarity with 5S, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC), or similar continuous improvement methodologies. Experience operating or maintaining pilot-scale manufacturing equipment. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds . Ability to move materials, including pails and pallets, as part of normal job duties. Work environment may require prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, and other physical activities associated with manufacturing operations. Steel-toe shoes are required. Hearing protection and respiratory protection may be required depending on work activities and applicable safety requirements. Ability to follow all workplace safety and PPE requirements.
