Minimum Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or GED.Preferred Qualifications:
Certification(s): Recommend certification by the National Association of Orthopedic Technologists.Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
- Eligible for staff privileges at hospitals in which orthopedic surgeons work.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy and medical terminology.
- Competency in applying casts and splints and surgical technology.
- Must be capable and willing to keep patients' films and medical records confidential.
- Responsible for practicing stewardship in the use of supplies.
- Ability to communicate effectively. Must be effective in both oral and written communications.
- Must possess the ability to meet and communicate with patients, physicians and visitors courteously.
- Must be a team worker.
- Must be able to relate well to other people and be tolerant of their conditions.
- Must actively promote harmony and good public image.
- Must be able to effectively delegate tasks.
