Impact you'll make Ensure safe, consistent mold performance by maintaining, repairing, modifying, and validating injection molds and related equipment—so our customers receive precise parts and our lines run efficiently. How you'll contribute Maintain molds: scheduled inspections, lubrication, corrective repairs, and design updates. Troubleshoot molding issues; distinguish process vs. mold vs. machine causes; correct wear and damage. Fabricate/repair cores, cavities, and components via mill, lathe, drill press, grinder, and other shop tools. Collaborate with process/setup technicians to confirm proper mold installation and operation. Execute preventive maintenance with full disassembly, detailed cleaning, and precise reassembly. Control spare-part inventory and coordinate external services as needed. Measure to print tolerances using dependable metrology; interpret manuals and technical documentation. Assemble special tools/fixtures; support internal tooling projects. Assist production as a setup mechanic or machine operator/grinder when required. Document work, maintain files, and order supplies/parts; operate an overhead crane safely. Work within established equipment parameters; report hazards to the Production Manager. Meet performance targets, follow all safety policies, keep the workspace clean, communicate professionally, and maintain dependable attendance; other duties as assigned. What you need to succeed High school diploma or equivalent. Technical school education and/or 2-3 years equivalent technical experience. 5+ years of hands-on mold maintenance and modification experience. Journeyman Tool & Die certificate (required). Strong understanding of injection molding processes/equipment and
PVC/CPVC
material characteristics. English literacy (read/write/speak); Spanish bilingual is a plus. Excellent mechanical/electrical aptitude; adaptability; creativity in problem-solving. Vendor negotiation skills; high math aptitude; strong organization and time management. Ability to work independently or as part of a team; proficient with mills, lathes, drill presses, and grinders. Capacity to interpret new information and foresee impacts on present/future decisions. Physical and cognitive demands Standing with frequent movement for up to 12 hours. Frequent push/pull/lift up to 100 lbs. Frequent bending and full overhead reach. Frequent walking; occasional climbing. Good manual dexterity (both hands) for removing, packing, and measuring parts. Above-average math for measuring, estimating, dimensional checks, and process calculations.
