FULL DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Grinder Operator to support hand grinding, material handling, shop production, workplace safety, and general industrial tasks in a shop environment. This onsite role is responsible for operating hand grinders, supporting production needs, working safely in a loud shop environment, and collaborating with team members to complete assigned work. The ideal candidate will have hand grinder experience, mechanical or industrial experience, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a strong commitment to safety and reliability. The selected candidate will be responsible for: Operating hand grinders in a shop environment Supporting grinding, production, and general shop tasks Handling materials as needed Understanding and complying with workplace safety regulations Working effectively with team members in a loud shop environment Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area Following instructions from shop leadership and supervisors Using proper PPE and safe work practices Supporting production needs for carbon pipe fittings, reducers, welding caps, fittings, and related materials Performing repetitive and non-repetitive shop tasks as assigned Performing other duties as assigned The selected candidate will also possess: Hand grinder operation experience preferred Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude may be considered 1+ year of mechanical, industrial, shop, manufacturing, or related experience preferred Material handling experience a plus Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required Ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects for extended periods required Ability to work in a loud shop environment required Ability to follow workplace safety regulations required Ability to work effectively with other team members required Reliable attendance and punctuality required Ability to wear steel-toe boots required Ability to pass a pre-employment physical exam required Ability to pass an instant drug screen required Ability to work onsite in Gardena, CA Ability to work Monday through Friday from 4:30 AM to 1:00 PM Ability to support a temp-to-possible-hire opportunity expected through the end of October or end of year

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, lift, carry, and move throughout a shop and production environment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed Ability to use hands and fingers for grinding, material handling, tool use, production tasks, and standard shop duties Ability to work around hand grinders, tools, shop equipment, production materials, and industrial activity Ability to work in a loud shop environment Ability to perform repetitive motions while maintaining safety and accuracy Ability to visually inspect materials, surfaces, parts, and completed work for accuracy and quality Ability to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks, and related safety equipment as required Ability to follow all safety, shop, production, material handling, and PPE requirements Ability to maintain focus, reliability, and attention to safety in a fast-paced shop environment
