PTO Competitive 401K Competitive medical insurance The Role As a Vacuum Melter, you will be responsible for operating vacuum furnaces to produce high-quality alloys, ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures. Duties include interpreting Heat Sheets and Material Recap Sheets, charging materials into furnaces, operating pumps, controlling power usage, and monitoring temperature, vacuum, and pressure levels. You will also take samples for metallurgical analysis, adjust materials as needed, and pour alloys into molds while maintaining proper conditions. Additional tasks include cleaning vacuum chambers, reporting equipment malfunctions or process issues, and directing the activities of team members. Strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication with coworkers and supervisors are essential. Interested? Previous Foundry and/or Furnace operation experience highly preferred Manufacturing industry experience desired Must be able to occasionally lift 100 lbs. Must be a certified forklift driver. Must be trained in the use of the overhead crane.
Vacuum Melter Classifications:
We offer progressive classifications based on experience and expertise. Training and certification opportunities are provided to help you advance in your role.
Class C :
Completion of at least 4 months of training. Work under the guidance of experienced team members. Certification as a Class C Vacuum Melter is required.
Class B :
At least 1 year of hands-on experience as a Vacuum Melter. Capable of operating the furnace independently. Certification as a Class B Vacuum Melter is required.
Class A :
At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a Vacuum Melter. Ability to troubleshoot issues and train team members at Class B or Class C levels. Certification as a Class A Vacuum Melter is required. Salary range : $28.90 - $37.00 depending on experience.
