Ability to read and interpret blueprints, thread callouts, GD&T, and machining drawings. Skilled in using precision measurement tools (micrometer, caliper, thread ring/plug gauges). Select and install the correct dies, chasers, cutting tools, and work-holding fixtures. Adjust machine speeds, feeds, cutting oils, and tool positions to meet thread specifications . Load and unload raw material (bars, blanks, or fastener stock). Measure finished threads using thread gauges, micrometers, calipers, pitch gauges, and other precision tools. Inspect workpieces throughout production to ensure consistent part qualit y. Monitor machine performance and perform routine cleaning and lubrication. Identify worn or damaged tooling and replace as necessary. Troubleshoot issues such as poor finish, incorrect pitch, chatter, or tool wear.
