Job Description
Job Summary Primarily responsible for your own safety and the safe operation of your assigned vehicle in the transportation of mixed concrete ready from a batch plant to pour locations. Operators have a responsibility to inspect, help with service, and keep the exterior/interior of the truck and drum clean. Timely and accurate completion of necessary paperwork is expected. Must be able to read ticket information and follow driving directions. Education & Experience
- Ready mixed concrete/mixer experience desirable, but not required.
- Experience operating dump trucks, off-road trucks, heavy equipment, military equipment, or similar large equipment will be considered.
- CDL preferred, but not required.
- Will consider candidates with transferable skills and willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities
- Consider personal safety and the safety of people around the mixer a priority while transporting ready mix concrete from the batch plant to the project site pour locations.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and reports (time sheets, miles, hours, etc.), assuring that each vehicle is safe and well maintained.
- Deliver quality product, maintain specification, and note any water added to the product (includes mixing load, adding chemicals, etc.).
- Be able to estimate consistency in slump values and develop understanding of quality testing.
- Notify the plant of job site information and conditions (i.e., delays, test results, pump speeds, etc.).
- Maintain the appearance of the mixer truck, both inside and out.
- Have the ability to safely climb and return to ground when using the mixer cab steps and handrails or the rear drum ladder while exhibiting proper stamina for repeated use during shifts.
- Wash down truck after discharge and prevent concrete buildup on metal surfaces (load hopper, drum blades, drum rollers, discharge hopper, rear pedestal, swivel chutes, flip chutes, hanging chutes, etc.).
- Prepare, receive, notate, and provide appropriate ticket documentation to pour site and plant.
- Maintain a high standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job. Participate in housekeeping of plant site, including but not limited to shoveling, cleaning, picking up debris, maintenance, and yard work. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements
- Must be open and willing to travel based on project and business needs.
- Must be flexible to work Saturdays and additional hours based on project needs.
- Ability to work in an active construction site or operating facility.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Must pass background check and required site clearances. PPE Requirements
- Steel toe boots required (employee must provide).
- All other PPE will be provided by the company.
