Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Tire Grader and Used Tire Inspector to join our recycling and waste management team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for inspecting, grading, and sorting used tires to ensure they meet safety and quality standards. Your keen eye for detail and mechanical knowledge will help facilitate the recycling process, promote environmental sustainability, and maintain compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of used tires to assess tread depth, sidewall condition, and overall integrity. Grade tires based on quality standards, identifying those suitable for reuse or recycling. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently. Handle recyclable materials responsibly while adhering to hazardous materials regulations and environmental compliance protocols. Manage tire sorting processes in outdoor work environments, ensuring proper separation of usable tires from waste materials. Maintain safety protocols by consistently using personal protective equipment (PPE) during all operations. Assist in landfill management activities related to solid waste disposal and sanitation efforts as needed. Skills Proven experience operating heavy equipment including loaders, excavators, forklifts, and garbage trucks. Mechanical knowledge related to tire structures, recycling machinery, and material handling equipment. Strong understanding of safety regulations, hazard communication, and environmental compliance standards. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks in outdoor settings for extended periods. Knowledge of recyclable materials handling, waste sorting procedures, and landfill management practices. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control during tire inspection processes. Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and follow safety protocols diligently.
