Job Description

Typical Duties of the
Feed Mill Operator:
Feed Manufacturing and Load out: Daily operation of equipment to process and manufacture feed products according to Company Standard Operating Procedures. Prioritize the daily production order of feed to be manufactured. Maintain accurate daily production records of feed manufactured and ingredients used. Maintain daily records of antibiotics used in the feed manufacturing process and conducting a close out at the end of each shift to reconcile drug use with physical inventory. Assisting when necessary the loading of complete feed. Provide feed hauler with a feed ticket with a copy to be left at the delivery location. Ensure proper adjustments are made in Feed Office Pro to capture any deviations in feed deliveries from what was anticipated. Where appropriate - the proper operation of the pellet mill(s) to ensure a high quality pellet.
Ingredient Receiving and storage:
Receive ingredients into the mill including bulk items and bags. Process receiving information within computer based accounting system. Assist in coordinating flow of ingredient inventory including handling of grain at unloading and bin clean out. Assist in monitoring of grain quality and record keeping for grain drying systems 3. Equipment Maintenance and Housekeeping Adjust and maintain roller mills to ensure proper grind of corn and other ingredients. Ensure feed cleaner or dresser is maintained and functioning properly. Communicate any maintenance issues that are identified to Mill Management. Perform housekeeping activities around specified areas according to Company Standard Operating Procedures. Observe all company safety standards. 4.
Quality Control:
Collect ground corn samples and determine micron size according to company standard operating procedures. Learn and practice appropriate grading of grain received at the mill. Retain samples of ingredients received and finished feed shipped. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1)
Knowledge of:
Agriculture and feed operation practices and procedures. Basic understanding of computer operations. 2) Skill in: Following oral and written communications. Time management. Organizational skills. Attention to detail. Customer service. 3) Ability to: Follow verbal/written instructions. Work both independently and in a team environment to accomplish goals. Desire to learn new skills and technology systems. Compensation:
Targeted pay range of $20.41-$24.00 USD per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
