Job Description
Moriroku Technology North America in Anderson is searching for a Mold Maintenance Technician. The Mold Maintenance Technician at Moriroku Technology North America, an automotive manufacturer, is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining mold and mold maintenance equipment while following all MTNA-A safety policies and procedures. Able to work in a fast-paced auto manufacturing environment to ensure parts pass customer specs and ship on time. Troubleshoot and repair of mold and mold components such as hot runners, water lines, hydraulic lines, flash repair, and other such repairs to OEM.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs Maintain and repair injection molds to meet internal and customer requirements Perform preventative maintenance activity on injection molds for maximum longevity Assembly and disassembly of molds and components Equipment Calibration and Setup Maintain spare part inventory of injection molds based on bill of material lists Inspect injection tooling equipment for new product launches and transfers prior to production run Troubleshooting and Repairs Troubleshoot injection molding issues to determine whether equipment or process issue Repair injection tools in a timely manner to meet production schedule requirements Polish simple injection molding surfaces to achieve proper fit, function, and/or appearance Troubleshoot and repair of electrical and hydraulic issues within injection molds Documentation and Reporting Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, maintenance repairs, and other maintenance activities, in accordance with ISO and IATF standards Provide accurate documentation for shipping and receiving of injection molds Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance and work orders for injection tooling Safety and Compliance Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating manufacturing machinery Operate cranes/hoists according to MTNA safety protocols to maneuver injection molds Maintain a clean and organized work environment to meet 5S ideologies Communication Communicate with other departments within the facility to address production needs, in both written and verbal communication Communicate effectively within the department to coordinate maintenance repairs and activities, in both written and verbal communication Identify and communicate if critical issues need to be addressed internally or work outsourced to meet tight deadlines Continuous Improvement Monitor equipment performance and suggest improvements to optimize the injection process. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address process issues, improve efficiency, and reduce defectsSkills/Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical degree or certification in Maintenance, Automotive Technology, or a related field preferred.Experience:
Proven experience in a maintenance role within an automotive manufacturing environment, with a focus on injection molding equipment and systemsTechnical Skills:
Ability to work with precision equipment and maintain quality standards Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and software systems Working knowledge of mechanical/hydraulic core slides, ejectors, hot runners, and electrical systems Knowledge of special injection processes such as Core Back, Rotary, etc Basic machining and grinding knowledge to perform repairs Basic mathematical skillsPhysical Requirements:
Walking/standing for 8+ hours daily Repetitive motions (bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, lifting, etc.) Lifting up to 50 lbs. Ability to work overtime as requiredSoft Skills:
