Job Description

  • Job Title: Mixer Operator
  • Job Description
  • The Mixer Operator plays a crucial role in creating batches of material according to specified standards. This position involves weighing materials, maintaining a clean mixing area, and addressing any mixing challenges. Additionally, the role requires completion of tasks as assigned by the Manager or Group Leader.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Review the Mixing Schedule to ensure production aligns with planned timelines.

+ Produce batches in the mixer following the established schedule and standards.

+ Inspect reconditioned drums prior to use, adhering to specified guidelines.

+ Dump completed batches from mixers efficiently and safely.

+ Communicate with the previous mixer operator to understand any irregularities or special instructions.

+ Follow the Mixing Procedure to produce standard production batches.

+ Report any abnormalities such as suspect raw materials, batch ticket discrepancies, or equipment malfunctions immediately to the Group Leader and QA.

+ Ensure correct identification and labeling of batches.

+ Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including batch tickets and mixing dump reports.

+ Inform the Manager of any unidentified or mis-identified batches, safety concerns, or maintenance issues.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area to maximize product quality and output.

+ Ensure safety apparatuses are properly in place.

+ Apply FIFO principles to use the oldest lots of raw materials first.

+ Handle hazardous waste responsibly.

+ Perform real-time reporting in SAP.

+ Communicate effectively with team members.

+ Conduct inspections and tests on drums and batches.

+ Operate forklift safely and efficiently.

+ Train new Mixer Operator Trainees and make trial batches for research and product development.

+ Manufacture highly critical products designated for 'A' Mixer Operators only.

  • Essential Skills
  • + 1-3 years of experience in mixing, batching, compounding, chemical handling, machine operation, and blender operations. + Experience in batch production and documentation. + Forklift operation skills. + Ability to lift up to 60 lbs repeatedly. + Comfort working in a facility with strong odors. + Ability to pass a skills key test and an audiogram test.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Prior industrial cleaning or housekeeping experience. + Prior mixing and batching experience. + Optional forklift experience. + Experience in chemical manufacturing. + High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $23.

00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
