I, II, III

Calico Precision Molding is seeking motivated and dependable Setup Technicians (Levels I, II, and III) to support our plastic injection molding operations. Setup Technicians play an important role in preparing molds, tooling, materials, and equipment for production and ensuring machines are safely and properly set up to produce quality parts. This position works closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Tooling teams to perform mold changes, start-ups, process adjustments, and basic troubleshooting while supporting safe, efficient, and consistent production. Key Responsibilities

•Perform mold installations, removals, and changeovers on injection molding presses. Connect water lines, heaters, and auxiliary equipment to prepare machines for production. Verify machine safeties and follow established setup sheets, procedures, and work instructions. Perform start-up checks and adjustments to ensure parts meet quality specifications. Troubleshoot basic molding defects and assist with maintaining stable production processes. Maintain mold cleanliness and lubrication and perform minor mold and equipment maintenance as needed. Support production schedules by completing safe and efficient mold changeovers. Operate forklifts, cranes, hoists, and other material-handling equipment as trained and required. Work with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Tooling teams to address equipment, tooling, and process concerns. Complete required setup documentation and production records accurately and timely. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all Calico safety policies and procedures. Assist with production needs and perform other duties as assigned.

Training Checklist-Process-Setup Technician Qualifications

• Experience in plastic injection molding, mold setup, or manufacturing equipment operation preferred. Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic molding and equipment issues. Ability to read and follow setup sheets, process documentation, work instructions, and diagrams. Ability to safely use hand tools and equipment required for mold setup. Strong communication, teamwork, dependability, and attention to detail. Ability and willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and technical skills. Commitment to safety, quality, and maintaining a productive work environment. Forklift and other material-handling equipment experience is a plus. Physical Requirements & Work Environment The Setup Technician works in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to moving machinery, elevated noise levels, heat, cold, lubricants, chemicals, and other industrial conditions. The position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and may involve bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and working around production equipment. The employee may be required to lift, carry, push, or pull tools, molds, materials, parts, and equipment. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
