Cooperatives are owned and controlled by the people who use them. Cooperatives differ from other businesses because they are member owned and operated for the mutual benefit of members. The Cooperative strives to provide educational sources and knowledgeable feedback to the members and the community.Position mission:
This position is responsible for the successful day to day operations of the Holton Feed Mill.Major Duties:
- Direct all operational aspects of the feed mill including shipping and receiving of goods
- Route trucks and deliver feed while maintaining service customer needs and operational efficiency
- Oversee customer service and interaction. Always striving to provide quality service
- Managing the administration of sales and billing in accordance with company expectation
- Maintain health and safety of the workplace
- Carrying out and attaining the mission and goals of Jackson Farmers
- Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
- Load feed bags and safely utilize fork lift when needed
- Close and manage the cash drawer on a daily basis and ensure proper change is in the drawer
General Responsibilities:
- Support JFI's strong relationship culture through quality customer service and superior product knowledge Provide superior customer service by resolving problems efficiently and responding timely
- Identify and implement solutions to problems in general and urgent matters Actively seek to add and enhance knowledge regarding developments and current trends in the industry Seek counsel of supervisor on financial concerns or other issues as appropriate Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a team environment Flexible to accept additional assignments as requested by leadership Cross train for other positions to cover when necessary • Professionalism while representing JFI (onsite, professional and community events and via communications) • Participate and attend meetings as requested Recommend policies and procedures as it relates to area of responsibility Timely responses to inquiries for information to customers, staff and vendors Answer telephone calls and provide a prompt response Follow JFI policies and procedures Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Class CDL preferred
- Knowledge of the functions, operation and mission of the Cooperative
- Better than average written and verbal communication skills
- Management experience in a team-oriented workplace
- Excellent organizational management skills
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described are representative to those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand for extended lengths of time, read computer screens, talk on the phone, unpack and move supplies up to fifty or more (50+) pounds, reach, kneel, bend, climb or balance, and be able to safely get in and out of cooperative equipment using a 3-point stance as required, as well as push, pull, or carry heavy objects. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision.Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vehicles and vibration. Noise level in the work environment can be loud.Additional Duties:
