Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Mold Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing molds used in plastics injection molding processes. Your expertise will ensure the continuous production of high-quality molded parts by performing precision maintenance, troubleshooting complex machinery, and implementing improvements. Duties
  • Wear PPE as required by Company rules and in all circumstances where common sense dictates.
  • Maintain safe working practices as instructed and avoid unnecessary risks. Contribute to safety by reporting hazards, near misses, injuries or accidents.
  • Ensure work areas are maintained to standard. Work as a team member to keep the standards when others are busy or absent.
  • Follow Daily Light PM Schedule
  • Review Big PM Schedule
  • Utilize cranes to remove plates, molds or appropriate mold parts.
  • Clean molds and mold parts to required standards.
  • Perform minor and critical repairs, document as required and follow up to establish root causes to problems identified.
  • Utilize data for training, changing processes / procedures where appropriate. Work as a team member to analyze problems in your area or in the factory as a whole and then to brainstorm, problem solve to improve processes, procedures and work practices Qualifications
Understanding of:
injection molding principles, plastics and its behavior during processing, molds and their construction, Mauer processes, quality and safety standards, basic functions and operation of different KM / Engel
  • Must understand mold construction and the purpose of all elements of the mold. Understands and capable of making / removing all connections to the mold.
  • Must be able to read prints and how key elements of the mold are assembled.
  • Ability to use overhead crane
  • Ability to clean all elements of the mold, especially the cavities with appropriate materials and to set standards.
  • Must be able to read instructions, production orders, simple drawings and follow instructions given by Management
  • Must be a team player, work to safe standards, including lock-out/tag-out procedures and have a 'can do' and 'do it right' attitude where good products and customer service are paramount.
  • Capable of maintaining concentration over an 8-hour shift to inspect product to given standards and maintain safe working.
  • Able to lift weights up to 50lbs without causing strains or injury.

From $28.00 per hour
