Job Purpose/Summary:
The Casting Technician manufactures products in accordance with established policies, procedures, and work instructions by performing the duties listed below.
Duties/Essential Job Functions:
1. Operate casting machinery, computers, hand tools, and power tools to manufacture products that meet customer and quality standards. 2. Perform spot checks of products to ensure adherence to approved quality standards. 3. Notify team leader of product discrepancies or equipment malfunctions. 4. Notify the team leader of inventory levels for materials, parts, and safety supplies. 5. Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines. 6. Read and interpret work instruction documents to produce finished product. 7. Assist with all casting tasks and product tool changes. 8. Follow company policies and all safety precautions, and report safety concerns and hazards promptly to the immediate supervisor. 9. Ability to perform all material preparation tasks. 10. Maintain clean work areas at the start and end of every shift. 11. Box parts, prepare labels, and accurately count monthly inventory. 12. Report on ergonomic concerns and process improvements (Employee Empowerment - TS Regulation). 13. Work overtime as needed to meet production requirements. 14. Assist with trimming parts as needed. Work Environment/Physical Demands
  • Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Follow PPE requirements such as wearing steel-toed shoes, body suit, safety glasses, gloves, sleeves, and respirator while casting material.
  • Ability to work in a high-temperature environment and handle hot materials.
  • Ability to handle chemicals and raw materials in accordance with applicable safety procedures and training.
Required education and experience:
- High School Diploma/High School Equivalency (GED) or higher Preferred education and experience: - Experience working with machinery, hand tools, and power tools
