Position Summary Steeltech, LLC is adding a second Maintenance Technician to support the electrical and mechanical reliability of our stainless steel foundry operations, including foundry sand molding, molten metal pouring, grinding, cutting, and welding equipment. This role places particular emphasis on strong electrical knowledge — motor controls, PLCs, and industrial power distribution — to reduce unplanned downtime and keep production equipment running safely and reliably. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems, including motor controls, starters, VFDs, PLCs, control panels, switchgear, and 3-phase power distribution. Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on foundry equipment (furnaces, cranes, conveyors, grinders, saws, and molding/pouring equipment). Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and complete PM records/logs to support equipment tracking. Respond promptly to unplanned equipment breakdowns and emergency repair calls to minimize production downtime. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical/OEM manuals to guide troubleshooting and repairs. Install, wire, and commission new or upgraded equipment in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable safety standards. Perform basic fabrication and welding repairs as needed. Maintain and calibrate plant equipment, and recommend parts/equipment upgrades to improve reliability. Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors on specialized repairs, inspections, or installations. Follow all safety procedures and lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols; maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Support other maintenance and facilities tasks as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience with strong, hands-on electrical troubleshooting skills; foundry, casting, or heavy manufacturing experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, control circuits, and 3-phase industrial power systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints. Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Familiarity with NEC and OSHA electrical safety requirements, including lockout/tagout. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic/test equipment (multimeters, meggers, etc.). Forklift/powered industrial truck (PIT) certification, or willingness to obtain. Preferred Qualifications Technical/trade school certificate or associate degree in Industrial Electrical, Electrical Technology, or Industrial Maintenance. Journeyman electrician license or equivalent industrial electrical credential. Experience with foundry or heavy-industrial equipment (furnaces, overhead cranes, centrifugal casting or pouring equipment). Basic welding/fabrication experience (MIG/stick). Physical Requirements & Work Environment Regularly works in a foundry production environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and moving equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand and walk for extended periods, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces. Required to wear all designated personal protective equipment (PPE). May require overtime, on-call availability, or off-shift coverage to respond to equipment emergencies.
