Full Job Description Job Title:
Manual Lathe Operator Lathe Hand is responsible for operating manual or semi-automatic lathes to produce precision metal parts according to specifications. The ideal candidate should have experience in lathe operations, a strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with various metals and alloys.Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate lathes to produce precision metal parts
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of parts
- Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards
- Perform routine maintenance on lathes and other equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment as needed
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating lathes in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and ability to use them effectively
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to maintain a safe work environment
