Job Description

Sturgis Molded Products is a plastic injection molding company family owned since 1966 located in Sturgis MI. Using the latest technologies in scientific molding coupled with our superior in-house tool design and engineering; we are able to provide innovative and cost effective plastic solutions for one-stop "Total Solutions Molding."
Title:
Preventative Maintenance Personnel (PM) Reports to: Toolroom Supervisor/Toolroom Manager Requirements and Responsibilities
  • Perform disassembly, cleaning, and re-assembly of injection molds including class 'A' finishes
  • Perform ice blast cleaning on injection molds both in and out of the press
  • Perform in press preventative maintenance with cleaning and re-greasing
  • Perform tooling conversions both in and out of the press
  • Test functionality of hot manifolds
  • Perform water checks on molds and chemical cleaning of water lines
  • Drill out and repair broken bolts, water fittings, or other small components
  • Utilize the overhead crane to lift and manipulate large molds and mold components
  • Operate the fork truck to load and unload molds from trucks
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in the toolroom
  • Support Production, Toolroom, Metrology and Engineering through assigned projects
  • Complete detailed documentation through IQMS work order module Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to take direction and work indecently
  • Ability to handle physical labor including getting in and out of injection mold presses, climbing ladders and lifting up to 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Understanding of injection mold tooling
  • Ability to utilize basic hand tools such as wrenches, taps, sockets, screw drivers and hammers
  • Ability to utilize light machinery including drills, hand grinders, mills or lathes
  • Experience working in an injection molding toolroom
  • Plastic injection molding specific experience

$20.00 per hour
