Position Summary The Injection Molding Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic components according to production schedules and quality standards. This position performs machine operation, product inspection, minor troubleshooting, material handling, and documentation while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate injection molding machines safely and efficiently. Start, stop, and monitor machine cycles according to established procedures. Inspect molded parts for defects such as flash, short shots, burns, sink marks, and discoloration. Trim, assemble, package, and label finished products as required. Perform routine quality checks using measuring tools and inspection gauges. Record production data, scrap quantities, downtime, and quality information. Complete required production and quality documentation accurately. Maintain proper material flow and ensure resin is supplied to machines as needed. Notify technicians or supervisors of machine malfunctions, quality concerns, or material shortages. Assist with mold changes, machine setups, and startup activities when trained. Keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards. Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies. Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, productivity, and safety. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic math and measurement skills. Ability to complete production paperwork accurately. Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating injection molding equipment. Knowledge of plastic resins and molding processes. Familiarity with quality inspection methods and measuring instruments. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent lifting of up to 35 pounds; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance. Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and reach throughout the shift. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and machine noise. Work Environment Manufacturing production facility. Full time is 4 days of 9 hour shifts. Friday's off Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other equipment as required. May require overtime, weekend work, and shift flexibility to meet production demands.
