Job Description

Mold Maker Position Summary:
Responsible for building, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding plastic injection molds. Reads blueprints, prints, CAD data, and specifications to assemble and modify tooling to meet production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Build, rebuild, repair, and maintain plastic injection molds. Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, sketches, and assembly drawings. Analyze part and component tolerances to ensure proper fit and function. Gather and assemble mold components from Bills of Material. Inspect parts and components using calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other measuring tools. Fit and assemble mold components using hand and power tools. Grind and bench components to remove flaws and achieve proper fit. Install and test mold components to ensure proper operation. Machine special details on manual machines as needed. Assemble and maintain cavity, core, pneumatic, and plumbing components. Route and wire mold components to control panels. Diagnose mold problems and make necessary repairs, adjustments, or replacements. Perform routine mold maintenance to keep tooling operating efficiently. Safely move, disassemble, clean, and troubleshoot molds and components. Operate overhead cranes and hi-lo equipment. Follow all safety, housekeeping, quality, environmental, and company procedures. Work effectively with engineering, design, production, and other team members.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong knowledge of mold construction, assembly, repair, and troubleshooting. Ability to read blueprints, prints, sketches, and CAD information. Experience using shop equipment, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with good attention to fit, function, and quality. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Welding experience is a plus.
Pay:
$25.19 - $31.34 per hour
