Full-Time | Direct Hire A well-established plastics manufacturer in the Detroit area is hiring a Day Shift Injection Molding Process Technician to support a busy production operation producing larger and more complex molded components. This is a hands-on floor role focused on mold setup, process adjustments, troubleshooting, and keeping presses running consistently. You'll be one of the key technical resources on shift, working through molding defects, tooling issues, and process problems as they come up. Responsibilities Set up molds and complete press startups and changeovers Adjust temperatures, pressures, speeds, and other process parameters Troubleshoot molding defects, tooling issues, and equipment problems Maintain consistent part quality and stable production Reduce scrap, downtime, and cycle-time issues Support production operators with process-related problems Document process changes and troubleshooting activity Assist with basic tooling and equipment issues Support setup reduction and other process improvement efforts Qualifications 3+ years of injection molding processing experience Experience setting molds and adjusting molding processes Understanding of mold cooling, venting, ejection, and general mold operation Ability to troubleshoot common molding defects and process issues Good mechanical aptitude Experience with larger or more complex molded parts is a plus Comfortable documenting process changes and communicating issues between shifts Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance Company-paid short-term and long-term disability 401(k) with company match PTO and paid holidays Education and wellness assistance Attendance and referral incentives Training and advancement opportunities
