Asphalt Mill Operator

Position Summary RAM Pavement Services is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Asphalt Mill Operator to join our growing team. This position is responsible for operating milling machines to remove asphalt and prepare surfaces for paving. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities Operate asphalt milling machines safely and efficiently Remove existing asphalt surfaces to specified depths and grades Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance Adjust machine settings to ensure proper depth, slope, and alignment Work closely with crew members, supervisors, and paving teams Maintain a clean and organized job site Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations Identify and report mechanical issues or needed repairs promptly Qualifications Minimum of 2-5 years of experience operating asphalt milling equipment Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required) Strong understanding of asphalt paving and milling processes Ability to read grade stakes and follow project specifications Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments Strong communication and teamwork skills Preferred Skills Experience with GPS or automated grade control systems Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment Experience working in road construction or paving environments What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Opportunities for advancement Health, dental, and vision benefits Paid time off and holidays Stable, year-round work
