Nesco Resource is seeking a mechanically inclined and detail-oriented Machine/Grinder Operator to join a precision-focused manufacturing team in Rochester, NY. This temp-to-perm opportunity provides the chance to develop long-term career opportunities while gaining hands-on experience in machining and grinding operations. Operators will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining grinding equipment while ensuring parts meet strict specifications and production standards.

Thursday Job Duties:

Set up, operate, and monitor grinding machines and precision manufacturing equipment Load and unload materials while maintaining proper workflow throughout production Inspect and measure parts using gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools Verify parts meet required specifications and maintain tight tolerances Follow established work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards Perform routine machine adjustments, maintenance, and minor troubleshooting Record production data and complete quality documentation accurately Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Support continuous improvement efforts and collaborate with team members to achieve production goals Identify and communicate equipment, quality, or process concerns to leadership

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required Previous manufacturing, machining, grinding, or machine operation experience preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions Basic math skills and problem-solving abilities Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable attendance and safety-focused mindset

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
