Job Title:

Mixer Operator for $20 an hour | 1st Shift Job Description The Mixer Operator works in a food production environment, accurately following formulas and batch sheets to prepare products. This role operates mixing kettles and related production equipment, uses PLC touchscreens to control kettle operations, and maintains high food safety and sanitation standards throughout the production process. Responsibilities Read and interpret product formulas and batch sheets accurately to ensure correct mixing and batching. Follow written procedures precisely and document all work in accordance with production and quality requirements. Operate mixing kettles and multiple pieces of industrial food production equipment safely and efficiently. Use PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) touchscreens to control and monitor kettle operations. Verify and monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) to maintain food safety standards. Perform sanitation duties, including operating Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems for equipment cleaning. Set up product transfer pathways and operate diaphragm pumps for moving product through the process. Weigh ingredients and finished product using production scales to meet batch specifications. Continuously swab and clean cooking equipment as required to maintain cleanliness and GMP standards. Support general production activities such as mixing, blending, batching, packaging, and machine operation as needed. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all safety and quality procedures at all times. Essential Skills Ability to read and follow written instructions, formulas, and batch sheets accurately. Basic math skills for measuring, weighing, and batching ingredients and finished product. Strong attention to detail with a focus on food safety and quality standards. Good verbal and written communication skills for documenting work and coordinating with the production team. Ability to operate industrial food production equipment, including mixing kettles and diaphragm pumps. Ability to use PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) touchscreens for equipment operation. Capability to perform sanitation tasks, including operating Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems. Forklift certification or ability to obtain one, depending on shift requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Background in machine operation, production, and packaging processes. Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) in food production settings. Comfort working with batch orders and following standardized production procedures. Why Work Here? Certain areas of the facility can be cold, and jackets are provided and may be worn for comfort. Floors may be wet due to production and cleaning activities, but the facility is very well lit and designed to be relatively comfortable for employees working on 1st shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Avon, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.38 - $20.38/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
