Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mold Setup Technician to join our, clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. This position will be a 2nd or 3rd shift position. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for preparing and setting up molds for plastics production processes, ensuring optimal operation of equipment. Your expertise will help maintain high-quality standards, improve efficiency, and support seamless manufacturing operations. Duties Maintains cycle and process integrity for all manufacturing equipment with the direction of the Production Supervisor. Works with support department to ensure tools, machines and processes are optimized. Recommends and implements changes and improvements to cycles, processes, and procedures to maintain schedule and quality parts. Maintain documentation and paperwork to support production cycles and procedures. Works directly with Technicians to suggest improvements in processes and procedures. Complete documentation audits to ensure parameters are within acceptable limits. Helps train and provide guidance on production issues to Setup personnel and Technicians to enhance knowledge and experience in all aspects of the production floor. Works with the Machine Operators to learn and improve current processes and procedures. Performs setups, samples, and other production related duties to maintain production schedules and on time delivery of parts to customers. Understanding and capability of running tests listed in Atalys SIM process workbook. Ability to develop processes of new tooling. Ability to program robot for part removal. Ability to run and trouble shoot all assembly lines. Works on all presses as production requirements dictate. Qualifications Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, plastic injection molding experience required. Shows mechanical aptitude and show an ability to learn and practice correct molding and setup methods. Displays a good attitude towards learning new jobs and procedures and work towards minimal supervision needed to accomplish daily duties. Capable of interfacing and leading team members as needed and direct as required by production schedules. Must be able to read machine dial gauges, blueprints and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts. Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action.
