In this role, you will be responsible for operating grinding machines to precisely shape and finish metal components, ensuring they meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in machine operation, technical drawings, and measurement tools will drive efficiency and excellence in our production processes. Duties Set up and operate various grinding machines, including CNC grinders, surface grinders, and tool grinders, following technical specifications and blueprints. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and production documents to determine grinding requirements. Use precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to verify component dimensions. Program CNC grinding machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and adjust machine parameters for optimal performance. Troubleshoot industrial equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production flow. Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards in production environments. Collaborate with team members on tooling setup, materials handling, and quality control procedures to ensure consistent product quality. Skills Proficiency with CNC programming, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CAM programming for precision grinding operations. Strong understanding of blueprint reading and interpretation of technical drawings for accurate machining setups. Experience with Fanuc controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine operation automation. Knowledge of shop math, fabrication techniques, and manufacturing processes related to machining and tooling. Ability to operate hand tools, tooling equipment, forklifts (certification preferred), and packaging machinery safely and efficiently. Familiarity with factory experience involving materials handling, assembly line procedures, and industrial equipment troubleshooting. Mechanical knowledge including press brake machines, stamping presses, flexo presses, and other manufacturing machinery. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and shop math for dimensional measurements. Understanding of safety standards in production environments to ensure a safe workplace for all team members. Experience interpreting GD&T specifications for complex parts requiring high accuracy in machining processes.
