Job Description
Join Komatsu and Be Part of Something Big! Job Overview Sets up and operates all machine shop equipment to make or repair all types of metal parts and equipment. Utilizes horizontal boring mills, lathes, drill press, welding equipment, grinders, saws, hoists, micrometers, dial indicators, layout tools, etc. Key Job Responsibilities Reads and interprets prints making necessary mathematical calculations to lay out stock or repair damaged parts. Sets up and operates large boring mills, lathes, universal mills and drill press. Uses hoist to position work piece and correctly aligns and fastens work piece to the machine. Uses precision measuring and layout tools to determine machining methods and work process. Observes work piece and verifies conformance to specifications and prints. Maintains machine tooling and jigs in an orderly fashion. Requisitions parts and supplies as needed. Re-grinds and sharpens tools as needed. Performs routine maintenance and repair on machine shop equipment. When required, spot welds. Cross inspects work of others. Performs CNC programming of mill. Qualifications/Requirements High School Diploma/GED Successful completion of Certified Machine Tech School Program. Training must include Blueprint reading, CNC, Lathe & Mill Two or more years machine shop experience. Experience in turning, boring, facing, and thread cutting. Use basic math Perform metric conversions Read assembly drawings Read machine drawings Read casting prints Use tape Use micrometer Use calipers Use dial indicators Use depth mics Use feeler gauge Proper operation of fork trucks Proper operation of cranes Safety training (Haz-Com, Lock Out / Tag Out, PPE, MSDS, Housekeeping, Lifting, Electrical) Knowledgeable of ISO Use grinders Proper operation of horizontal boring mill Performs CNC programming Proper operation of lathe Proper operation of universal mill Basic computer skills Additional Information Have basic tools or be willing to purchase Able to work any shift Able to work overtime Able to work weekends Company Benefits Komatsu provides an extensive and robust employee benefits package that is designed to enhance the well-being of our employees and family members.
