What You Will Do As a Skilled Lathe Operator , you will set up and operate lathes and related machining equipment to produce precision parts according to drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.Your responsibilities will include:
Lathe Setup & Operation:
Set up and operate engine lathes, turret lathes, NC/CNC lathes, and other related machining equipment.Blueprint Reading:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and specifications to determine machining requirements and sequence of operations.Machine Adjustments:
Make necessary machine, tooling, offset, and minor program adjustments to maintain part quality and production requirements.Precision Machining:
Machine a variety of features while maintaining required dimensions and tight tolerances.Inspection:
Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify part conformance.Multiple Setups:
Perform multiple setups and operations as required to complete parts.Troubleshooting:
Identify machining, tooling, or quality issues and make appropriate adjustments.Safety & Environmental Compliance:
Properly handle machining fluids and materials in accordance with company safety procedures andISO 14001
requirements.Teamwork:
Communicate effectively with supervisors, Quality, and other team members to maintain a safe and productive workflow. What You Bring High School Diploma or GED preferred. 3+ years of machining or lathe operating experience preferred. Hands-on experience setting up and operating manual, NC, and/or CNC lathes . Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing drawings. Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment. Ability to hold tight tolerances and consistently produce quality parts. Experience making machine offsets, tooling adjustments, and basic programming changes. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Experience machining a variety of materials, including exotic materials, is a plus. Physical Demands & Work Environment Ability to regularly stand and use hands and fingers to operate machinery, tools, and measuring equipment. Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and bending. Close vision, distance vision, and depth perception are required. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment around moving mechanical equipment with exposure to noise and varying temperatures. Why Join D.L. Martin?Competitive Pay:
