In this hands-on role, you'll work directly with patients and athletes while supporting physicians and clinical staff. The DME Technician plays an important role in providing orthopedic equipment, patient education, inventory management, and clinical support. What You'll Do Educate patients on the proper application, use, care, and expected outcomes of durable medical equipment based on physician instructions and manufacturer recommendations. Assist with the fabrication and removal of casts and splints and the application of orthopedic devices. Assist with the removal of external orthopedic hardware as directed. Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with payer requirements, company policies, and regulatory guidelines. Track, maintain, and order DME, custom braces, medical supplies, and other clinical inventory for Elite facilities. Assist with inventory management and site profitability. Perform monthly inventory at DME locations and assist with inventory reconciliation. Conduct regular audits to support accurate inventory management and billing, including: Daily DME dispensing audits Daily HA injection audits Monthly DME charge audits Monthly and quarterly HA injection log audits Maintain and reconcile surgery schedules daily. Monitor and maintain logs for cold therapy units, injections, casting, and splinting. Deliver DME to Pre-Op, the Operating Room, or Recovery as needed. Provide patients with education and instructions on Cold Therapy Units. Utilize Breg Vision for ordering, receiving, and managing inventory. Maintain and organize injections, including HA, PRP, and other biologic products. Maintain the autoclave and clinical instruments, including required cleaning and maintenance. Prepare and match packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices for timely processing. Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, physicians, clinical staff, surgery center personnel, and other departments. Assist clinic staff and support team operations as needed. Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree or equivalent preferred Two years related medical experience preferred ROT or OTC preferred Two years of experience in a physician office or orthopedic setting (preferred) Ability to manage patient load and the needs of the facility Experience in bracing, fitting, casting and splinting (preferred) Comfortable using Office programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Knowledge of practice management, word processing software and EMR applications (Greenway preferred) Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor Good communication skills and the ability to perform patient education duties Neat, professional appearance Time management skills and the ability to prioritize We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
