JOB SUMMARY
Lithographics Inc. is seeking a full-time Prepress/Desktop Operator. Successful candidate must be able to electronically assemble graphics and text to create electronic files containing all components for offset and digital printing. Requires in-depth knowledge of desktop publishing applications on Macintosh OS platform including Adobe Creative Suite. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to outputting and assembling press proofs as well as generating ctp plates.
Responsibilities:
Work with the Macintosh platforms utilizing Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design and Acrobat PDF files. Windows Application helpful but not required, Word, Excel, Publisher Preferred knowledge in Matrix, XMF, and Smart stream print systems. Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements. Preflight incoming customer files to ensure that all components are correct and ready for processing. Interact with customer service, external customers and others regarding the status of jobs and in problem-solving scenarios.
• Apply knowledge of imposition, color separation, and trapping for press. Follow SOP to quality check customer proofs before they are sent out to customer Quality check press form layouts before they are sent to plating. Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product. Maintain a record of quality issues and keep manager informed of issues. Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance. Submit jobs to press and platemaking queue through predetermined workflows Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
High School Diploma Three to Five years Prepress experience in a commercial shop Knowledge of all Adobe products (Acrobat DC, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop etc.) Experience with PDF and postscript file. Lithogarphics is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug Free Workpace.
